oh glorious pot…

March 29, 2012

Spring is here, and I am excited to be spending more time outside.

Talk of outdoor rooms and landscaping are creeping up and my mind is turning to pots.  Indoors and out, the right planter can add just the right touch to a space and impacts the look and feel of the plant inside it.  I’ll admit, some pots are so pretty you don’t even need to fill them…

this is so pretty…

I don’t feel like writing today, but I do feel like sharing.

Here’s some info on Josef and Anni Albers

Au Vieux Panier

March 18, 2012

I’m a sucker for graffiti.  I am also a sucker for white.  Put the two together and I’m beside myself with happiness.

This is why I love Au Vieux Panier, a small(6 room) hotel in Marseilles, France.  The rooms are all decorated differently and the graffiti is by far my favorite…

yum.

I know I’m starting to sound like Schumacher’s bitch, but I just really love me some Schumacher.  Like this outdoor fabric.  Yum.  Right?

rose bowl swap meet

March 12, 2012

We went to the Rose Bowl swap meet in Pasadena yesterday.  I hadn’t been in quite a few years and had forgotten how much stuff is there.  We got there late, so we missed all of the good early bird items, but still had a great time.  I added a new bowl to my Bauer collection, so we didn’t come home empty handed.

Here are a few items that caught my eye…

luxembourg garden chair

March 9, 2012

You know what I like?  I mean, besides a lot of things?  I like Paris.

Michael’s dad lives in Paris…even better, he lives a block away from Luxembourg Gardens.

One of things I love about Paris is that people are out to enjoy being out.  With nothing to do.  They just go to the park to sit.  Who does that in America?!?!?!?!

OK, maybe people do that in central park, but not here in LA.  Do we even have any parks here in LA?  Now I’m just being bitter.

I love the sea of chairs that are readily available when you stroll into Luxembourg Garden. I would like a big sprawling yard so that I could have my own sea of chairs…

I am a Schumacher girl.  F. Schumacher and Co. is definitely one of my go to design showrooms.  I am a huge fan of their wallpapers, especially their Modern Nature collection.

Lately I have become obsessed with their new line of fabrics designed by Martyn Lawrence Bullard.  Everytime I walk into the showroom and see the display of his gorgeous fabrics I get excited and a little swoony.

I’m thinking the Sikar Embroidery in Citrus is going to make an appearance in the form of Euro Shams on my bed sometime soon…

I’m thinking this print with the black and white Ikat duvet cover I got recently is going to spice up my bed just right…

Thanks, Mr. Bullard!

stringy stringy

March 6, 2012

Macrame, fiber art, string wall hangings.  I love them all.  There is something so earthy and warm about a beautiful fiber wall hanging.  The texture adds so much to a space…
